Fall Semester 2014

Choose from the classes listed below!

Covenant:  There are threads woven throughout the Bible that come together to reveal God, His ways, and His purposes. One of those is Covenant. As Kay Arthur explains, “No subject ties the Word of God together more than covenant, because everything God does is based on covenant!” This fall, you’ll have the opportunity to discover covenant for yourself through the study of God’s Word.

Using her Precept-style inductive study methods, Kay Arthur will lead you through the study of passages in both the Old and New Testaments that will reveal what covenant is, its purposes, and its effect on God’s people, both collectively and individually. This nine-week study includes five days of homework each week in a unique workbook.  Then, you’ll come together with your class weekly for discussion and teaching—from DU-W teachers and Kay through video. The Covenant class will be offered Tuesday mornings beginning 9/16 (9:15 a.m.) and Wednesday evenings (6:30 p.m.) (2nd and 4th weeks) beginning 10/8.

1 and 2 Thessalonians: Join Beth Moore and walk the shores of Thessalonica with this verse-by-verse Bible study of 1 and 2 Thessalonians. Children of the Day sheds light on the relationships shared by those who comprise the church.

You will gain the assurance that your circumstances and conditions are not coincidental. God’s timing is impeccable! Whether you’re facing family crises, medical diagnoses, relationship troubles, doubts, or fears, you will receive encouragement for living the Christian life now and hope for when Christ returns. “You are children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness”
(1 Thessalonians 5:5). This class will be offered Tuesday mornings (9:15 a.m.) and evenings (6:45 p.m.) beginning 9/16.

Romans, Chapters 6-8. You have been freed from sin’s power! Free from the guilt and power of sin, but what about the flesh? Discover how justification by faith relates to day-by-day living through the Holy Spirit’s power—the amazing process of sanctification. Kay Arthur will lead you through an inductive study, precept upon precept, as you explore God’s Word and learn His truth for yourselves. This class will be
offered Tuesday evenings (6:45 p.m.) beginning 9/16.

We invite you to join with us as we seek to know God and His Word more deeply, so we’ll be prepared to respond and act through these studies of His Word.

Christian Education Units (CEU) can be earned by taking these classes! Covenant earns 1 CEU, Children of the Day earns 1 CEU and Romans Part 2 earns 2 CEU’s.
